Designers:
Maria Philippi (1927–2004) was a renowned German ceramist who briefly worked for the Danish ceramics workshop Søholm on Bornholm from 1962 to 1964. Her time at Søholm was short but highly influential, and her designs continued to be produced for several years afterward, particularly in the 1970s. She created both functional ceramic works and artistic objects distinguished by her experimental use of glazes and decorations.
She is best known for her earthenware works, including table lamps, bowls, and wall plaques. Her work remained sought after both during and after her time at Søholm, and her pieces are now considered valuable examples of mid-century Danish ceramic art.
She also worked closely with other important designers and ceramicists from Søholm, including Einar Johansen and Noomi Backhausen.
